THE ART OF DAY AND NIGHT: DAILY RHYTHMS AS INSPIRATION FOR LIGHTING DESIGN [45 MINUTES]Susanna Douglas, Loisos + Ubbelohde, Alameda, CA USA
Current research on Circadian rhythms, the advent of color-shifting LED technology and increasingly strict regulations for protecting the night sky all support the importance of maintaining daily rhythms of light and darkness. Ms. Douglas will incorporate several historical and contemporary case studies to offer inspiring examples of the art of integrating daylight and of preserving the night, as well as strategies for celebrating the swing conditions of dusk and dawn.
